Sinner in trouble but advances to third round at Wimbledon
The world number one narrowly won against Nuno Borges in three tight sets (7-6, 7-6, 6-4) in the second round. A match less controlled than expected, but enough to avoid surprise elimination.

Jannik Sinner avoided surprise elimination at Wimbledon after a second round in three tight sets against Nuno Borges (7-6, 7-6, 6-4). The world number one, after a marathon first round in five rounds against Miomir Kecmanovic, had to fight to avoid overtime. The match against Borges, ranked 77th in the world, confirmed the limits of Sinner's expected domination on the London turf.
