MotoGP: Bagnaia announces departure from Ducati after 2026, leaving the most coveted seat in the category
The two-time world champion ends eight years of hegemony in Bologna, opening up a million-dollar vacancy and redefining the driver market for 2027.
Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia will leave the Ducati Lenovo Team at the end of the 2026 season, the Italian manufacturer has announced. The Italian driver, who has been part of the team since 2018, won two consecutive world titles in 2022 and 2023, ending a 15-year drought without driver titles for the Bologna brand. The decision comes one day after Ducati confirmed the extension of Marc Márquez's contract, signaling a turnaround in the rider composition for 2027.
