Quartararo: “Finally a good feeling” on the Yamaha
After years of crisis: The Frenchman finished fifth at Le Mans and saw a turnaround.

Fabio Quartararo showed a strong sign of life at the sprint race in France. The Yamaha rider started from sixth place and fought his way up to fifth place in front of 100,000 fans. After the race, he spoke of a “finally good feeling” on the bike – a sentence that sounds like relief after two years of frustration.
The Frenchman had recently repeatedly complained about the Yamaha M1's lack of grip and top performance. But at Le Mans the setup suddenly worked. Quartararo was able to accelerate earlier in the corners and control the rear wheel.
