Zverev walks into the third round without losing a set
Germany's tennis ace dominates at Wimbledon and is saving energy for the next rounds. A clear win against Royer underlines his title ambitions.
Alexander Zverev reached the third round at Wimbledon – without losing a single set. The top German player dominated his opponent Valentin Royer 6:3, 6:1, 6:2 and secured an easy victory. Royer, a French qualifier, had no chance against Zverev from the start.
The 27-year-old German showed a convincing performance with precise groundstrokes and a stable serve performance. Especially in the first two sets, Zverev set the tone early and controlled the game. His forehand hit with a hit rate of over 80% in the first set, while Royer only hit 60% of his first serves - an indicator of clear dominance.
