Jan-Lennard Struff fought his way into the round of 16 at Wimbledon with a fighting victory over Brandon Nakashima and will meet top ten player Daniil Medvedev there. The German turned around a hard-fought game in which he was already behind in the deciding set and secured his place in the round of 16. Struff showed strong nerves on Center Court as he absorbed the young American's pressure and steered the match in his direction.
This victory is the next milestone in a strong season for the Warsteiner, who once again demonstrated his potential at Grand Slam level. The game against Nakashima developed into a war of attrition. Struff had to dig deep into his physical reserves to make up for the deficit in the decisive set.
