Fucsovys blasts past Tien in straight sets at Wimbledon
Marton Fucsovics dismantled Learner Tien’s serve-and-volley game with relentless baseline pressure, sealing a statement straight-sets victory on Centre Court.

Marton Fucsovics dismantled Learner Tien 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday at Wimbledon, advancing to the next round with a commanding straight-sets victory on Centre Court. The Hungarian outlasted the Taiwanese qualifier across all three sets, breaking Tien’s serve four times while facing just one break point of his own. Fucsovics dictated rallies with deep, punishing groundstrokes, neutralizing Tien’s serve-and-volley tactics by keeping him pinned behind the baseline.
The third set saw Tien’s frustration boil over, as he double-faulted twice in a row to hand Fucsovics the break that sealed the win. Tien, ranked 112th in the world, entered the match as the underdog but relied heavily on his net play to unsettle opponents. Fucsovics, ranked 55th, neutralized that threat with relentless depth from the baseline, converting 68% of first serves and winning 82% of points when he put the ball in play on his own serve.
