The 46-year-old American will return to the court of a top category tournament for the first time since 2019, which will take place from August 2 to 13, 2026. This will be Williams' 13th start at the Canadian Open, a tournament she has won twice (2001 and 2016).
The wild card confirms Williams' status as one of the most recognizable figures in world tennis, despite her age and career breaks.
