FanGraphs Launches Heat Maps for Members
New visual tools turn dense stat tables into color-coded insights for MLB and minor-league fans.

FanGraphs just dropped the Heat Maps feature, a member-exclusive tool that slaps visual strike-zone and spray-chart data right onto leaderboards and player pages. This update covers both MLB and minor-league stats, turning dense number grids into color-coded graphics you can actually read. The new functionality lets you spot a hitter's power alley or a pitcher's weak point instantly without drowning in spreadsheets.
FanGraphs integrated these visuals directly into the site's infrastructure, so you no longer need to export data to third-party tools just to see where a guy hits the ball. It supports granular breakdowns by pitch type, location, and batted-ball direction for every level of pro ball. You will find these maps on individual player pages, where performance metrics aggregate into hot and cold zones.
