Oliver König: From beer to the world's elite
Czech talent combines economy with racing on a Triumph in the World Championship.

Oliver König represents a complete anomaly in the luxury world of superbikes. This twenty-four-year-old Czech did not let his dream of the World Championship be swallowed up by reality, instead he incorporated it into his training plan. While the rivals spend their days in the gym and simulators with a full service team behind them, König pursues a full study of economics and the part-time jobs that support him.
His path to the starting grid of the World Superbike Championship did not go through expensive academies, but through hard work in service centers and behind the bar at AC/DC concerts, where he poured beer for thousands of fans. This year, however, he swapped the bar for the cockpit of a Triumph Street Triple 765 RS machine in the colors of the Compos Racing Team. The move followed his triumph in the European Stock 250 championship, which attracted the attention of European teams.
