Steve Henson named SCC men’s basketball coach after Watkins exit
Henson inherits one of the nation’s top junior-college programs with high-major coaching pedigree in a move that signals SCC’s ambition to stay elite.
Steve Henson has been named the new head men’s basketball coach at Southeastern Community College (SCC) in West Burlington, Iowa, effective July 1. Henson replaces Lorenzo Watkins, who resigned in June after leading SCC to sustained success in one of the nation’s premier junior-college basketball programs. Henson arrives from UTSA, where he served as an assistant under head coach Steve Henson.
