The University of North Carolina baseball team punched its ticket to the national championship with a 7-2 demolition of West Virginia on Friday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. UNC’s offense struck early and often, plating four runs in the first two innings on a mix of timely hits and aggressive baserunning. Shortstop Seth Hallford led the charge with a two-run single, while outfielder Tommy White added an RBI double to stake Carolina to a 4-0 lead before West Virginia could blink.
