Franzén takes the helm of HV71 – can he turn the crisis around?
After three straight qualifiers and an organizational crisis, Johan Franzén takes over as the new club director for HV71. His experience from both hockey and business will stabilize the team for the future.

HV71 has appointed Johan Franzén as the new club director in an attempt to break a series of failures and create stability after a turbulent period. Franzén, who was previously site manager at Skobe Bil and chairman of Oskarshamn in the SHL and Hockeyallsvenskan, takes over the role immediately. He replaces Richard Nylin, who left the post earlier this year.
The message came from HV71's board, which justified the choice with Franzén's broad competence and experience in both and business life. In recent seasons, the club has struggled with three straight qualifiers on the men's side and an extensive staff turnover that shook the organization. During the autumn, the sports manager Tommy Fritz also had to leave his position, which further weakened the stability.
