Former NFL star Chris Johnson is rallying for a revival of the Ice Bucket Challenge to spotlight ALS after his own diagnosis of the progressive nervous system disease. Johnson, a five-time Pro Bowler and former Tennessee Titans running back, revealed his ALS diagnosis in a public statement on August 12, 2024. The 34-year-old, who rushed for 8,098 yards and 50 touchdowns in his eight-season career, is now using his platform to push for greater awareness and research funding amid his personal battle.
