Berrettini returns to the third round at Wimbledon, Fils out in four sets
Matteo Berrettini beats Arthur Fils on Centre Court and qualifies for the third round. Grigor Dimitrov awaits the Italian, who is returning to the levels that count.

Matteo Berrettini defeated Arthur Fils in four sets (6-4, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3) and made his return to the third round of Wimbledon, three years after his last appearance on this stage. The Italian showed character, managing the difficult moments best against a rising opponent. The victory was not straightforward: Berrettini closed out the first two sets with authority (6-4, 7-5), but Fils reacted in the third set, taking it 6-3 and forcing the Italian into a balanced fourth set.
