Honda provides Aston Martin with the decisive boost in Zandvoort
The new Honda powerhouse makes its debut at the Dutch GP – without any chassis modification. A game changer for 2026?

Honda is giving Aston Martin the crucial power boost for the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. The Japanese engine manufacturer has officially confirmed that the long-awaited powerhouse for the British team will debut at Circuit Zandvoort in time for August 24, 2025. According to Chief Engineer Shintaro Orihara, the new Power Unit aims to reduce Aston Martin's gap to the top teams - without having to fundamentally rebuild the current AMR26 chassis.
This strategy of minimal invasiveness is a clear signal of focus on the upcoming 2026 season. Instead of pouring valuable development resources into deep modifications to the current chassis, Honda is relying on a “plug-and-play” approach that promises short-term relief. This is a risky but necessary maneuver in order not to lose touch in the constructors' championship fight while the engineers have already set their eyes on the next set of regulations.
