Vieri: Ramos is the center forward that Milan have been waiting for for a decade
The former bomber endorses the new signing: «Enormous potential, finally a world-class profile»
Christian Vieri has given the green light to Goncalo Ramos, calling him the long-awaited addition to strengthen Milan. The former Italian national team striker underlined the Portuguese's potential, highlighting how the Rossoneri club had not had a world-class centre-forward for over a decade. Vieri, in an interview with *Gazzetta dello Sport*, described Ramos as a profile "with exceptional technical and physical characteristics", capable of changing the team's fortunes.
“Finally we have a player who can make a difference in the penalty area,” he said. Vieri's comment comes at a crucial moment for Milan, fresh from a season characterized by mixed results and the need to renew the squad with high-level profiles. Ramos, who arrived from Benfica under the management of Ruben Amorim, has been presented as the solution to fill the void left by Olivier Giroud's departure.
According to internal sources, the Portuguese has already impressed in training, showing himself to be reactive in aerial duels and skilled in his defensive play. Vieri's assessment is not limited to technical merit: the former striker also underlined the psychological importance of the purchase. “A center forward of this caliber restores confidence in the whole team,” he added.
