Bartůňková knocked out Siniaková, Krejčíková awaits in the 3rd round
The 20-year-old Czech Nikola Bartůňková defeated the experienced Kateřina Siniaková on Wimbledon grass and is heading to the round of 16. Her next opponent will be compatriot Barbora Krejčíková.

Nikola Bartůňková claimed the biggest win of her career so far and sent Kateřina Siniaková home on the Wimbledon grass. The 20-year-old Czech thus advanced to the third round of the Grand Slam for the first time in her career and guaranteed her participation in the round of 16, where she will face compatriot Barbora Krejčíková. The 6-3, 6-2 win against 23rd seed Siniak came on Tuesday afternoon on the All England Club's center court.
Bartůňková entered the match hard and broke her opponent's serve twice in a row in the first set. Siniak, a two-time Grand Slam doubles champion and member of the world's elite 20, tried to respond with hard balls from the baseline, but the young Czech outplayed her at all the key moments and forced a shortened game, which she won 7-4. The second set started just as dominantly.
