IOC launches $100M fund, gives Olympians $10K after Games
IOC will hand out $10,000 cash grants to every Summer and Winter Games athlete from a $100 million fund, a historic step toward direct Olympic compensation.

The International Olympic Committee has announced a $100 million fund that will deliver $10,000 cash grants to every athlete competing in the upcoming Summer and Winter Games, payable after the conclusion of each event. The fund, created under the IOC’s new Athlete Support Programme, aggregates more than $100 million in contributions from National Olympic Committees, sponsors and the IOC’s own reserves. Each Olympian who competes, regardless of medal status, will receive a flat $10,000 payment once the Games close, meaning the total outlay could exceed $1 billion if full participation is reached.
