Golubic stuns Li, books Nottingham semifinal vs Navarro
Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic, 76th-ranked, dumps fifth seed Ann Li in three tight sets to reach the Nottingham Open semifinals and set up a clash with Emma Navarro.

Viktorija Golubic, the 33-year-old Swiss qualifier ranked 76th in the world, punched her ticket to the Nottingham Open semifinals with a pulsating quarterfinal upset over fifth seed Ann Li. Golubic needed 112 minutes to overcome Li, the 29th-ranked American, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 on Centre Court. The victory extends her five-match winning streak and marks her third quarterfinal run of the grass swing.
The upset is the latest display of veteran resilience from Golubic, who has sharpened her grass-court game just in time for Wimbledon. Her semifinal opponent will be 25th-ranked Emma Navarro, who earlier dismissed qualifier Harriet Dart 6-4, 6-3. Golubic, a Zurich native, came through qualifying at Nottingham and has now beaten two seeded players in successive rounds—first 12th seed Jasmine Paolini in the second round, then Li in the quarters.
