Chip Ganassi Racing announced Scott Dixon will depart after the 2026 IndyCar season, closing a 24-year partnership that delivered six championships and 122 race victories. The split marks the end of one of motorsport’s most storied driver-team alliances and hands IndyCar a seismic shift in its championship hierarchy for 2027. Dixon, 44, joined CGR in 2002 and became the face of the team, steering it to titles in 2003, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020.
