Stars press Roland Garros for premiums
Sinner, Djokovic and Sabalenka are demanding a bigger share of the growing Paris Grand Slam business.
A group of leading tennis players, including world number one Jannik Sinner, Novak Djoković and Aryna Sabalenkova, are publicly criticizing the amount of prize money at Roland Garros. In a statement cited by the AP agency, the players claim that the financial rewards for the winners (68 million crowns) do not reflect the growing commercial income of the Paris Grand Slam. Tennis players are demanding a bigger share of the business of the tournament, which they say is generating ever-increasing profits from TV rights, sponsors and tickets, while the players' share of that revenue is falling.
