Montoro as Godts successor: Ajax is again looking for a technical wing cannon

Ajax has 19-year-old Argentinian winger Álvaro Montoro from Botafogo in its sights as a possible successor to Mika Godts. The Amsterdammers are preparing for the possible departure of their Belgian talent and see the South American as the ideal candidate to immediately take over the position on the wing without losing quality. The interest did not come out of the blue.

Montoro has already distinguished himself in the Brazilian Série A with his impressive technical repertoire and excellent game intelligence. Scouts describe his style as possessing the rare 'Ajax DNA': a player who is comfortable on the ball, can act quickly in busy spaces and chooses the right running lines. Botafogo, which has the boy in house, knows that European interest is growing, but Ajax now seems to be taking the most concrete steps to bring him to the Netherlands.
