Cup Series road-course totals are rising, but the history debate needs more than a raw win count.
NASCAR’s Cup Series has leaned harder into road courses, and that shift is starting to crowd the record book. Modern drivers are getting more chances to build road-course resumes than many earlier stars ever had, which makes a simple win-total comparison feel too thin. The issue is not whether today’s winners deserve credit.
They do. Winning when the series turns left and right still demands precision, range and nerve. But the schedule gives current drivers a different runway, and that matters when their totals are placed next to names from other eras.
