Decathlon-CMA CGM opted for radical preparation two days before the Tour de France by carrying out a team time trial on the Formula 1 circuit of Catalonia in Barcelona. 6 km on the asphalt of the motorized circuit, an environment radically different from the usual departmental roads. This strategic choice aims to refine the synchronization of the platoon in optimal safety and surface conditions.
The Montmeló technical route allows the simulation of constant high speeds, essential for validating aerodynamic formations. Paul Seixas, the team manager, supervised this session which serves as a full-scale test before the green light for the Grande Boucle. The exercise requires constant communication and constant effort from each member, where the slightest deviation breaks the breath of the group.
