Alessio Besio has officially joined VfL Wolfsburg from SC Freiburg on a deal running until June 2030. The 23-year-old Swiss striker arrives fresh off a loan at SC Verl where he scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists in 36 appearances, lighting up 3. Liga defenses while Freiburg held his rights.
Wolfsburg, newly relegated from the Bundesliga, are banking on Besio’s lower-league exploits to spearhead an immediate top-flight return. 83 goal contributions per game led the team in attack. Freiburg retained his Bundesliga rights but allowed the move knowing Wolfsburg’s need for proven firepower.
