The 2026 Canoeing European Championships, held in Montemor-o-Velho, closed with Portugal shining: four medals (2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) and a European record in the adapted VL2 200 class. The event, which brought together 600 athletes from 39 countries, stood out for its internationally praised organization, even after a storm that forced the track to quickly recover. Ricardo , president of the Portuguese Canoeing Federation, did not hide his enthusiasm.
