Aston Villa Drags FIFA to Court in €12m Brexit Transfer Battle
The club's blockbuster signing of Brian Madjo is frozen, a direct result of post-Brexit rules that English clubs say handcuff them in the youth market.

Aston Villa is suing FIFA at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, fighting to free a €12 million signing they currently cannot play—a direct consequence of post-Brexit transfer rules that have slammed the door on a key pipeline of young talent. The club completed the high-profile signing of 18-year-old forward Brian Madjo from French side FC Metz earlier this year. However, his registration was blocked because the deal no longer qualifies for an exemption that allowed the cross-border transfer of minors within the European Union.
