World Cup 2026: Moose, jaguar and eagle as new mascots
Three North American animals as ambassadors: Maple, Zayu and Clutch represent Canada, Mexico and the USA. FIFA is relying on symbolic power and global marketing for the first three-country tournament.

FIFA has unveiled the official mascots for the 2026 World Cup in North America: Maple the moose for Canada, Zayu the jaguar for Mexico and Clutch the bald eagle for the USA. The three characters take on symbolic roles on the pitch - Maple as a striker, Zayu as a midfielder and Clutch as a goalkeeper. The aim is to capture the energy and diversity of the three host countries.
The mascots were presented as part of a global marketing campaign that kicks off the first three-country World Cup in history. The designs were developed following an internal call for proposals from creative agencies specializing in sports and event marketing. The characters combine traditional animal motifs with modern, animated features to appeal to both local and international fans.
