Cardinals-Braves: Midseason Clash Decided by Execution
St. Louis’ discipline and Atlanta’s power clashed in a razor-thin NL showdown where small ball and late swings decided the outcome.

The Cardinals edged the Braves 4–3 on a two-out RBI single from Lars Nootbaar in the seventh, capping a high-energy NL duel that turned on execution in key moments. St. Louis scratched out three runs in the first on a bases-loaded walk to Tyler O’Neill and a sacrifice fly from Brendan Donovan, but answered with two in the third on a solo homer by Austin Riley and an RBI double by Matt Olson.
