In the third round of the 1995 Wimbledon, Jeff Tarango not only lost the match, but threw such a tantrum that he was disqualified from the tournament for insulting the referee. His wife Benedicte then stormed the court and punched Chief Justice Bruno Rebeuhl in the face. The incident took place on June 26, 1995 at the center court of the All England Club.
Tarango was in deep trouble in the second set of his match against German player Boris Becker. After a series of questionable decisions by referee Rebeuhl, who awarded him a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, Tarango lost his temper.
