Villarreal’s Pape Gueye publicly quits the Teranga Lions after the World Cup exit, blaming the current staff for the split in the camp.

Senegal midfielder Pape Gueye has walked away from the national team, citing the current coaching staff as the reason for his departure. Gueye, who plays for Villarreal, made the announcement on Instagram immediately after Senegal’s 2-3 Round of 16 defeat to Belgium in Qatar. In his statement, he declared he will not be available for selection as long as the current management remains in place.
