Loustalot bounces back in La Rochelle in Top 14
At 34, scrum half Christophe Loustalot leaves Mont-de-Marsan and signs as a medical joker at Stade Rochelais to relaunch his elite career.
Christophe Loustalot, 34, scrum half, found a new start by signing as a medical joker at Stade Rochelais in the Top 14. The French international, dismissed by Stade Montois after the club's relegation to Pro D2 at the end of the 2023-2024 season, has signed a fixed-term contract with the reigning European champion. The contract, officially announced this Thursday, comes in a context where Stade Rochelais is seeking to strengthen its squad with a view to the European campaign and the Top 14.
Loustalot, trained in Mont-de-Marsan and former club captain, is leaving Landes after a decade of loyal service. His departure is part of the restructuring of Stade Montois, relegated for the first time since 2015. The player, who has played more than 200 professional matches, brings valuable experience to an already strong La Rochelle squad.
