Zverev storms forward, Świątek awakens
The Paris winner shines on grass, the defending champion finds her way back to dominance - and Anisimova delivers the fight of the day.

Alexander Zverev finally recognized the emergency on the Wimbledon lawn and stormed into the third round with an almost flawless performance, while Iga Świątek demonstrated her dominance. The German top player delivered a performance against Valentin Royer that was reminiscent of his best form on clay, but caused a surprise on the unpopular grass. Zverev controlled the action from the baseline and only lost one set in the tiebreak, which underlines his potential for the rest of the tournament.
