Olivia Miles’ first dud becomes Lynx’s growth lesson
Rookie guard’s seven-point night ends in loss of stats but gain in trust: the team’s long view wins the day.

Olivia Miles, the WNBA rookie guard, logged her worst pro scoring line Friday, finishing with seven points on 1-of-10 shooting as the Minnesota Lynx beat the Golden State Valkyries 81–75. The season-low output capped a rough night for Miles, who had been averaging double-digit points in her previous outings. The Lynx still improved to 12–4 on the season and remained in playoff contention, but the real story was Miles’ first real adversity as a pro.
