Sonego beats Diallo in five sets and flies to the third round at Wimbledon
The Turin native endures four hours of battle and qualifies for the round of 32, where top 10 player Taylor Fritz awaits.

Lorenzo Sonego wrote another chapter of resistance at Wimbledon. The number 42 seed beat Canadian Gabriel Diallo 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-7(6), 6-2 in a match that lasted four hours and twelve minutes, thus reaching the round of 32. The first set went to the advantage of Sonego, who closed the tie-break 7-4.
Diallo reacted in the second set, breaking serve from the Turin player and taking home the 6-4. The third set returned to Sonego's values, with another tie-break won 7-4 and the final 7-6(4). The fourth set was the hardest fought: four hours and two minutes on the clock, six points in the tie-break and Diallo won the set 7-6(6).
