Honda bets everything on Zandvoort with its new engine
The debut of the power unit in the Netherlands seeks to give a radical turn to Aston Martin's season.

Honda has officially confirmed that the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort will be the venue chosen for the debut of its new power unit, a strategic move designed to inject life into Aston Martin's performance in the final stretch of the season. The technical update, scheduled for three races from now, directly addresses the reliability and power deficits that have hampered the team. Shintaro Orihara, Honda's head of development, broke down the technical modifications that include fundamental adjustments to the combustion chamber, pre-chamber and lubrication system.
Among the leaked specifications, a possible compression ratio of 18:1 stands out, an aggressive figure that suggests a qualitative leap in thermal efficiency. The decision to advance this hardware responds to the need to maximize the return on investment on a circuit where traction and corner exit are decisive, seeking to exploit any margin of mechanical advantage over the competition. Orihara emphasized that the goal is not just to increase gross horsepower, but to integrate a more linear power delivery that allows drivers to exploit the chassis with greater confidence.
