Fritz extends Zverev streak to seven, eyes Wimbledon with Halle final berth
Taylor Fritz outlasted Alexander Zverev in a three-set semifinal thriller to claim his second straight grass final and tighten his grip on Wimbledon dark-horse status.

Taylor Fritz erased a first-set deficit to defeat French Open champion 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-5 in the Halle Open semifinals on Saturday, stretching his head-to-head lead over the German to seven consecutive wins. The 26-year-old American, who also reached the Stuttgart final last week, displayed poise under extreme heat as Zverev visibly wilted physically. Fritz will face compatriot Frances Tiafoe in Sunday’s final after Tiafoe defeated Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-2 in the second semifinal.
