The yellow-red management recently offered Icardi a 1-year contract extension, but did not receive a response.
The Argentinian star gave the signal of separation by saying "I will not be there next year" within the club, which mobilized President Dursun Aydın Özbek and his team. Galatasaray, which wants to maintain its championship claim in the Super League, calculates that getting rid of Icardi's high salary burden will provide financial relief.
