Extraordinary General Assembly in Gençlerbirliği: No Debt, Strength is a Must
Arda Çakmak announced that he has no debts to FIFA and UCK, restructuring is required for transfer registration.
Gençlerbirliği's decision to attend an extraordinary general assembly is based on the club's need to restructure its debts with the state in order to lift the transfer ban and strengthen its squad. President Arda Çakmak denied the public perception of "FIFA debt" and clearly stated that the club did not have any obligations towards FIFA or UCK in the international arena. The main obstacle is the SSI and tax debt of 110 million TL, which must be resolved in order for transfer registrations to be made.
The administration is standing on a serious financial threshold for new presidential candidates to hand over power. Çakmak emphasized that the person who will manage the club must have a financial power of at least 10 million Euros, and stated that this power is necessary not only to pay the current debts, but also to establish a competitive team. It was made clear that this financial condition was the most critical criterion before the general assembly to be held on July 25.
