UEFA expelled Karvina, Jablonec will save the cups

UEFA has struck and MFK Karvina is out. The European Football Association has excluded the winners of the Czech Cup from next year's European Cups due to proven corruption and match manipulation. Although Karviná lost its biggest trophy in modern history and valuable European participation with this step, Czech football as a whole breathed a sigh of relief.

The loss of a seat does not translate into a reduction in the number of representatives, which means that the country's coefficient remains intact. The consequences are immediate and drastic. FK Jablonec enters the vacated place in the preliminary round of the Conference League, thus gaining a safety net at the last possible moment.
