McLaren reveals MCL-HY for WEC 2027
The brand unveils its new LMDh hypercar for the World Endurance Championship from 2027.

McLaren has lifted the veil on the MCL-HY, its new weapon for the World Endurance Championship. The British brand officially begins competition from 2027 with a hypercar built according to globally unified LMDh regulations. The MCL-HY sports McLaren's legendary papaya livery, the brand's essential visual signature since its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The LMDh, acronym for Le Mans Daytona Hypercar, is a unified regulation created to standardize sports prototype car competition on a global scale. Launched in 2023 in IMSA, the North American endurance championship, the category makes its official arrival in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) from 2027. This unification marks a major change in endurance, a discipline long fragmented between regions and distinct regulations.
