Watauga County youth teams fire up summer tournament push
All-star softball and baseball squads from Watauga County kick off District 2 play this week, chasing state and regional titles across multiple leagues.
Watauga County’s youth softball and baseball all-star teams are entering tournament action this week, with multiple age divisions competing in District 2 play. Watauga County Parks and Recreation and Equip Sports teams face state and regional tournaments, including Cal Ripken and Tar Heel League brackets. The District 2 tournaments begin Wednesday at Watauga High School Softball Field and Dr.
Pepper Field, with games running through the weekend. Divisions span 8U through 14U for baseball and 10U through 14U for softball, drawing squads from across Northwest North Carolina. Watauga County teams will face off against Ashe County Parks and Recreation in pool play before potential bracket advancement.
