The British pilots want a third home victory in a row at Silverstone
Norris, Russell and Hamilton have a chance to make history on home soil. A third triumph would not come since 1968.
British drivers head to Silverstone aiming to repeat a third consecutive home victory since 1968. Lando Norris (McLaren) defends his world title, while George Russell and Lewis Hamilton (both Mercedes) add fuel to the fire after recent wins. The British Grand Prix race on July 7, 2024 could write a new chapter in the history of the queen of motorsport.
Norris starts the round as the leader of the championship with 142 points, Russell follows him with 137 points and Hamilton holds the third position with 128 points. Victory at Silverstone would see Norris strengthen his position in the title race, while for Russell and Hamilton it would be valuable championship points. The McLaren team is betting on Norris as the leader, while Mercedes relies on the experience of its two drivers.
