Sakkaris: From 0-6 to 7-6 – Qualification at Wimbledon is alive
Maria Sakkari avoided the surprise with a comeback of 6-3, 0-6, 7-6(7) against Kamilla Rakhimova at Wimbledon, showing composure in moments of crisis.

Maria Sakkari wrote a story of resistance at Wimbledon, beating Kamilla Rakhimova 6-3, 0-6, 7-6(7) in the second round and keeping her hopes alive for a deeper run on the grass court. Sakkari started strong, winning the first set 6-3, but Rakhimova came back strong in the second, sealing the 0-6 in less than 25 minutes. In the third set, the Greek champion showed composure, holding her serve until the tiebreak, where she won 7-6(7) and took the win.
The win was particularly important for Sakkari, as she had been eliminated early in the previous Grand Slam tournament, the French Open. The qualification keeps the path open for a dynamic continuation in the tournament, while Rakhimova missed the chance to cause the first major upset in the women's singles. "It was a match where I had to bring my character to the surface," Sakkari said after the match.
