Sidney Crosby is a Canadian professional ice hockey center and captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the NHL. Born on August 7, 1987, in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Crosby was drafted first overall by the Penguins in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He has won three Stanley Cup championships, two Olympic gold medals, and numerous individual awards, including the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's Most Valuable Player.
